Citroën C3 Aircross: Our Review After 2 Years

Ah French classics, there’s just something about them. Chanel Number 5, the films of Godard, Les Miserables, boeuf bourguignon. When our cousins across the channel make something great it tends to stick around for some reason, a certain je ne sais quoi perhaps? Well at mycardirect we’d like to induct another French classic into the cultural canon, the Citroën C3 Aircross. For the past 2 years, the Citroën C3 Aircross has been a stalwart member of the mycardirect fleet, providing our subscribers with a practical, comfortable, and adaptable compact crossover option at an affordable price. As we reflect on our experiences with this vehicle, we’re excited to share our fleet insights to help prospective subscribers understand why the C3 Aircross is an excellent choice.

Compact Yet Spacious

One of the standout features of the C3 Aircross is its ability to maximize interior space despite its relatively compact exterior dimensions. We’ve had lots of feedback from subscribers about how comfortably the Aircross accommodates up to 5 passengers, with ample headroom and legroom for taller riders. When you’re choosing a family car legroom in the back is always a priority, as is ease of fitting child seats, and the Aircross happily accepts even bulky rear facing baby seats.

Comfortable and Compliant Ride

Our subscribers have consistently praised the smooth, compliant ride quality of the C3 Aircross. Citroëns have always been known for their smooth rides, famously pioneering Hydropneumatic suspension on the legendary DS, which boasted it could cushion a box of eggs across a plowed field. That heritage has persisted, and the C3 Aircross is built to soak up washboard gravel on French country lanes. The suspension and high clearance do an excellent job of absorbing bumps and potholes, resulting in a relaxed, comfortable driving experience for both short commutes and long weekend excursions.

Efficient and Economical

For the last 2 years the C3 Aircross has been our entry level automatic model, and they’ve all come equipped with a marvelously efficient 1.2 litre petrol engine. While mycardirect is an inclusive car subscription service, you still need to fuel your subscription car. Average fuel consumption comes in at 52 mpg, which has helped to keep running costs low for our subscribers.

Intuitive Technology and Connectivity

Subscribers have appreciated the C3 Aircross’ user-friendly tech. While the C3 Aircross has a state of the art infotainment system, most subscribers choose to hook up their smartphone and use either Apple CarPlay or Android Auto. Aside from the glossy touch screen in the centre console, the C3 also boasts voice control, so you can take calls or change the music hands free. These features have helped to keep our customers connected and safe on the road.

The Bottom Line

Throughout our 2 years of offering the Citroën C3 Aircross in our fleet, we’ve consistently received positive feedback from our subscribers. If you’re seeking a compact crossover that combines practicality, comfort, efficiency, and adaptability, the Citroën C3 Aircross is an excellent choice. We’re confident that the C3 Aircross will continue to be a valuable asset in our fleet for years to come.
